Mt Rawdon hits its straps Evolution Mining (ASX:EVN) has reported a soft March quarter production outcome, with an asset sale impacting the numbers. Operations across three of the company’s sites reported lower production numbers for the quarter, while three others delivered higher outcomes, with Mt Rawdon being the standout. Positively, the key takeaway for the quarter lay in the significant fall in operating costs.  Despite the fall in the March quarter production of gold, guidance for 2018 was boosted. Moreover, a

Goldilocks Economy: Road to $5 trillion The Indian economy seems to be chugging along nicely with estimates from various sources estimating economic growth to be above the 7% mark this year and onwards as the transformational reforms under Prime Minister Narendra Modi bear fruit. There will, however, be some growing pains that will prevent growth from being a straight line, but this is to be expected. We maintain our bullish on the country and maintain our BUY rating on the Fidelity

A Rocky Start to FY18 Despite a recent hiccup from a trading update released ahead of interim numbers due in May 2018, shares of leading explosives manufacturer, Orica (ASX:ORI), have staged a partial recovery from levels seen after the fiscal 2017 results were announced. At that time, before one-off items, Orica’s reported earnings were marginally below the prior year and missed the consensus estimate. An improvement in the macro backdrop has supported the shares in 2018. What’s New? An update ahead of Orica’s

Getting out of Life Bank of Queensland (ASX:BOQ) released half year numbers today which missed expectations, but saw another round of growth, with both the retail and business banking reporting year-on-year improvements in income, loan portfolio and asset quality. The bank also announced that it’s getting out of the life business for strategic reasons. The shares were weaker today, and have been trending down in 2018, but we believe the market is missing the point. Cash profit increased 4% year-on-year to $184
