About Us

Trusted Stock Market Research and Wealth Management since 2000

Founded in 2000 by Sydney stockbroker Angus Geddes, Fat Prophets was built on a simple belief: the best investment opportunities are found by seeing what others overlook. Angus’s passion for investing began early — at just 11 years old, he turned $200 into more than $35,000 by the age of 16. Since then, he has devoted his career to uncovering overlooked opportunities and helping investors build wealth with confidence.

From our headquarters in Sydney, Fat Prophets has grown into a globally recognised financial services brand. With a proven track record spanning more than 25 years, we deliver trusted stock market research and wealth management solutions, underpinned by deep Australian and global market insights and a disciplined contrarian approach — empowering our members to invest in tomorrow, today.

Our Mission

Our mission is to empower our members and clients through trusted research and professional wealth management, guided by disciplined, contrarian thinking — with the objective of delivering investment returns that outperform relevant benchmarks and the confidence to invest in tomorrow, today.

Our Investment Philosophy

At Fat Prophets, we have developed a distinctive investment approach designed to perform across market cycles. While many analysts rely solely on either fundamental analysis or technical signals, we combine both — pairing deep, bottom-up research with disciplined market timing to identify value where others fail to look.

Our perspective extends beyond individual stocks. We apply a global macro lens across equities, commodities, currencies and bonds, spanning key Western and Asian markets. This broader view allows us to connect the dots, cut through market noise and uncover opportunities that are often hidden in plain sight.

Guided by our See Further, Arrive First™ methodology, our insights are 100% independent and conviction-led. We seek out mispriced assets and emerging trends before they become consensus — helping our members access opportunities the broader market overlooks.

Our Four Investment Pillars

Macro / Thematic

Will this sector outperform?
We uncover the macro trends and economic shifts shaping markets, and identify the sectors most likely to benefit — positioning early in long-term themes across regions and asset classes.

Contrarian Perspective

Where is the crowd not investing?
We seek opportunities in places others overlook. By going against consensus, we aim to identify tomorrow’s winners before the market catches up.

Fundamental Value Analysis

Is this company the best exposure?
We seek undervalued companies with strong management, valuable assets, and lasting competitive advantages to provide quality investment ideas.

Technical Analysis

Is this the right time to be buying?
We use technical analysis to time investments, minimising risks and maximising gains by following the trend.
