Colin Whitehead

Colin joined Fat Prophets as an Equity Analyst in January 2007. Brought up on a diet of Teletext (the UK's pre-internet stock price service) Colin established a keen interest in financial markets from an early age. The Black Monday meltdown of October 1987 only served to spark this interest further. At this point, he had an inkling that price and value may be entirely different things - the seed was sown.

Taking an early interest in financial markets saw Colin eventually graduate from the University of the West of England with a degree in Accounting and Finance. From here, he set his sights on London, gaining experience with NatWest investments.

He then transferred to Sydney with State Street Bank and Trust Company, also gaining analytical experience through a stint with BNP Paribas.

Colin's commitment to furthering his knowledge continued in Australia where he spent 3 years dedicating himself to the Chartered Financial Analyst program. The early mornings and lost weekends spent studying paid off in 2005 with the award of the designation.

Colin subsequently joined the team at Fat Prophets, where he is able to continue studying the techniques of value investing legends, in addition to indulging his passion for the wider markets.
